In Loving Memory Of
Sarah Ann Elizbeth Malone
December 09,1987 to December 09, 1987
Gone To Soon

The
Baby with no name...
My family calls her the baby with no name .
Just because she died does not mean that she was
never here.
She once lived, yes only for awhile maybe not like you
Or me, but forever she will always be.
Just because you know not how to act about what
you call the baby with no name does not
mean that I can not see what you do not say.
Just because I chose to name her does not mean
that you should call her the baby with no name. To
me she will always be a daughter, a sister, a
grandchild , a niece, some relative to my family
But my family chose to call her the baby with no
name
I chose to call her Sarah Ann Elizabeth Malone
because to me a Daughter she will always be...

Sarah Was Born With Anencephaly
A deadly defect
Anencephaly is a neural tube defect resulting in the absence
of the skull & major portions
of the brain (cerebral hemispheres & cerebellum),
abnormalities of facial features such as
folded ears & cleft palate, & congental heart defects.
~Anencephaly is incompatible with life.
~Risk Factors:
geographic-variable with incidence
increased in Ireland & Wales and
decreased in Asia, Africa, & South America
genetic-recurrence rate is 4% & i
ncreases to 10% if a couple has
had two previous anencephalic infants
-whites>blacks (6:1)
-females>males
environmental/nutritional-low SEC,
environmental and toxic factors
-nutritional and vitamin deficiencies
-folic acid antagonists
-drinking water minerals
perinatal-maternal infections and/or hyperthermia
~Polyhydrominos is present in many ancephalic pregnancies.
This is when the baby is unable to swallow
amniotic fluid causing a large amount of excess fluid.
~Testing:
- prepregnancy serum folic acid test
- amniocentisis to determine if increased levels
of alpha- fetoprotein are present during pregnancy
- urine estriol levels during pregnancy
- ultrasound confirms the diagnosis
~Research has suggested that taking
vitamins prior to & during early months
of pregnancy may significantly reduce
the occurrence of neural tube defects.
As a result of this research some experts
are now advising women who
are trying to become pregnant to
take multi-vitamins under their doctor's supervision.
No woman should self-administer large doses
of vitamins during pregnancy,
however, because megadoses of vitamins can
increase the risk of other birth defects.
Safely Home
I am Home in Heaven, dear ones; oh,
so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty in His everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, safely Home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
in that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
for I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
so you must not idly stand;
Do it now; while life remaineth~You
shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed.
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
oh, the joy to see you come!
